St Austell Evening Classes

Classes take place on Monday evenings at Pattern Hall, Charlestown, minutes from Penrice Academy.
Parking is available, seconds from the venue on Charlestown Road, PL25 3FW

Pattern Hall is tucked away, at Foundary Parc, at the top of Charlestown Road just after the turning into Fettling Lane. It has an entrance waiting area, toilets and is a lovely light space.

You need to park on Charlestown road, walk in to Foundry Parc and you will see some disabled parking bays. The building is just down from the parking bays and to the left. You will see a post office sign on the side of the building (during the day it is the venue for the community PO and slimming world). Because this is a residential area, we need to be mindful about how we enter and leave the space.

This class has been created for those needing a gentle introduction to yoga, those with severe back, hip or joint pain and/or new to movement, exercise and yoga. It is also popular with those suffering from FM, ME and CFC. It is a good place to start if you have been advised to join a yoga class as a way to recover and rehabilitate from injury, an operation or to reduce stress levels and relax. This class offers gentle yoga sequences and somatic exercises to help improve mobility, flexibility and strength. We tend to focus on back, hip and joint care in this class so expect a combination of anti-rheumatic exercises and gentle releases and stretches.

£7.50 per class drop-in (contact me if you would like to drop in space is limited).
£6.00 per block booking (Block bookings have priority given limited space).

In this mixed ability class, for those refreshing their knowledge of yoga and without major injuries, we explore all that yoga has to offer our physical, mental and emotional well being. We explore a wide range of flowing sequences, standing, seated and lying postures, balances and assisted inversions. Starting with joint preparation and a somatics-inspired warm up, right the way through our class to final relaxation, the focus of our practice is to strengthen and stretch the body while revitalising our inner energies and quieting the mind.

Mondays 7.35pm to 8.50pm – Yoga for Strength

£7.50 per class drop-in (contact me if you would like to drop in space is limited).

This class uses dynamic sequences, balances, somatic releases and traditional stretches to strengthen the core and our upper and lower body. The class has been designed for experienced yoga students, athletes and runners. After joint preparation and a thorough warm up, we travel through a series of flow-style sequences, standing, sitting and lying asana and a variety of drills to develop strength, power, core stability and flexibility. The class draws to a close with yin-style stretches, a restorative posture, pranayama and short meditation.
