These classes are a huge amount of fun and as well as working out the body, the music and upbeat nature of step really lifts the spirits and gets the cells fizzing.

Students can do these classes using a step bench or do exactly the same workout on the floor. We always start with a thorough warm up then work through different routines that build up and sustain the heart rate while improving coordination and strengthening the legs and arms. We use hand-weights and there is always a standing legs section which includes squats, lunges and lateral work to build stamina and proprioception. Training shoes and workout clothing essential.

The last section of the class is based on the floor where we strengthen arms, legs, chest, back and abdominal exercises. We use resistance bands for hip and thigh exercises and light-weight kettle bells and hand-weights to strengthen the chest, shoulders and arms. Finally we have a delicious stretch down and re-warm.
